The only thing I do not like about this coffee maker is that it does not have an external sight glass to indicate how much water is in the reservior, every thing else great. Unlike my old pot it dosen't wake me before tha alarm does.
After going through 4 Kitchenaid 14 cup coffee makers (Whirlpool replaced 3 at no cost) in 2 years I finally ordered this one. Makes great coffee & extremely easy to operate. This one works wonderfully. I've used the Cuisinart daily for over a year & never had any problems. The filter is very easy to change. Arrived on schedule.
Our DCC-2200 recently bit the dust and I phoned Cuisinart customer service to see if they could help me with a replacement. We've had several Cuisinart coffee makers over the years. They consistently do a great job of brewing coffee and we like the features that come with them. I spoke with a real live representative in about 2 or 3 rings and she promptly researched my unit and offered to send me a replacement for a $10 shipping charge plus the return of my old unit. When a company treats it's customers that well, I'm happy to give them my return business and spread the good news to other potential buyers.
Have had this model for over a year. Makes 14 cups in less than 5 min. No problems what-so-ever. Love it. We've tried several different coffeemakers over the years, but this is our favorite by far. Very easy and quick to make smaller (4 - 8 cup) pots also.
The carafe broke after a week, second one broke after two weeks, third carafe broke after 4 weeks of being VERY careful. If I didn't know better, I'd have to say that Cuisinart designed this for maximum profit. We would have purchases a stainless steel one, but we're so angry about the cost, we don't even want to deal with Cuisinart. TOTAL SCAM.
